NORFOLK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER- AMY & SAM- GRESHAM’S SCHOOL WEDDING, HOLT
I always feel honored to be at any wedding I’ve been asked to photograph. I see many beautiful weddings and often get to return to them too. This weekend I had the Gresham’s School wedding of Amy & Sam. The only wedding at Gresham’s this year, which I think is incredible to have such an exclusive venue! Sam went to school at Gresham’s which meant he was allowed to marry in the beautiful Chapel they have at the school. I had been to visit the school prior to their wedding. However, it was extra beautiful on their wedding day with the lovely flowers in the church by Libby Ferris and amazing marquee all set up.
I arrived with Amy and her bridesmaids in the morning at The Pheasant Hotel. Preparations were in full swing and the girls soon popped some bottles of Prosecco. It was soon time for Amy to get into her stunning wedding dress and meet her family who was also staying in the same hotel. They were all blown away as she walked into to courtyard! After a few family photographs, it was time for me to leave for Gesham’s.
As expected, the venue looked stunning and the Chapel was quickly filling with their guests. Sam seemed very excited to see his Bride. Once arrived, Amy and her bridesmaids then got to walk down the longest most stunning aisle which was so spacious and light. Basically a photographers dream! The Ceremony was lovely and very personal to them both. They had a choir who filled the chapel with the most beautiful sounds during the Hymns. Amy’s friends also sung an amazing a cappella love song for everyone. After signing the register and making everything official they walked out as Mr & Mrs Precott!
After a few group photos, and a whole lot of confetti we all made our way to the amphitheater for welcome drinks. If I was to describe to you perfect wedding weather, it would have been everything that Amy & Sam had! A warm 18 degrees- but not too hot. A light breeze and a soft haze of clouds during the day with a killer sunset in the evening! It was perfect!
Their guests soon made their way to the Marquee for canapes and then ready to be seated ready for speeches and their wedding breakfast. Speeches were lovely. Starting with Amy’s dad who spoke so highly of Sam. Leading to Sams speeches which left not a dry eye in the Marquee! Sam’s best friend was unable to make the wedding after having a baby just 2 days before the wedding. She had originally planned to give the speech in person but instead did an excellent video recording. She presented the perfect balance of heartfelt words and reminiscing over funny times from her’s and Sams youth. A very tough job when speaking to a video camera but she really did an excellent job!
After a very tasty BBQ by Hatter Events (who also did a fantastic job of making sure everything ran smoothly on the day) Amy, Sam & I went for a quick walk around the ground to try and make the most of the golden hour. Returning back to the marquee to sound tests from the awesome Joe Ringer Band meant that it was nearly time for their first dance. As the night started to draw in and the festoon lights got more dazzling. The dancefloor became full and the drinks were flowing! Thank you, Amy and Sam, for having me along to your wonderful day! I hope you enjoy the highlights!
